Hi! I’m Hannah Provenza.
I began fencing at the University of Chicago Fencing Club in July 2009; I competed in my first USFA competition three weeks later and promptly decided that fencing was A Thing I Like and that I wanted to be Very Good at it. To that end, I joined Windy City Fencing Club in January 2011. In 2014 I moved to Boston, and following some adventures I’ve settled down at Marx Fencing Academy while I pursue a master’s degree in computational linguistics at Brandeis University.
On this blog I’ll be sharing bout analysis, the ups and downs of training, and thoughts on balancing an ambitious hobby with an ambitious career.
I’d love to make this blog a conversation, so no registration (not even an e-mail address!) is required to comment. You can support me by resharing my posts, following my blog, and following me on Twitter @hannahprovenza.
